Zenato Academy debuts at The Others event scheduled to take place in Turin from the 31st of October to the 3rd of November 2019, an art fair dedicated to scouting new talents, that takes place during the week of contemporary art.

“We are honoured to have been invited to participate in The Others - declares Nadia Zenato -. The Others was born as an ambitious project of a common space that creates new premises for cultural approaches. Together with Zenato Academy we want to support young artists and promote a permanent laboratory of study and experimentation that can explore beyond what we already know ".

Aware of the elective affinity between the 'story of wine' and the artistic language, Zenato Academy promotes reflections on these themes and values that animate the world of wine through photographic research.

"That is how the Zenato Academy Award for contemporary photography was born, among the works present at this fair - continues Nadia Zenato - they will later become a part of our collection".

The jury of the Prize, which will be awarded on Saturday the 2nd of November, consists of The Others’ artistic director Lorenzo Bruni, art critic Luca Panaro and an entrepreneur Nadia Zenato.

At The Others, Zenato Academy will exhibit a selection of artworks from the photographic exhibition “Wine. Beyond Objects ", curated by the Master of Photography of the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan.

Five students, under the guidance of their teacher Luca Panaro, were asked to explore the objects used in wine production, reviewing them in a new and fresh way beyond their conventional use.

These are not images that document. They are images that evoke. The project is focused on the land of Lugana and Valpolicella and objects like wood casks, glass vessels, tools and machinery used in winemaking. The students sought to move their objects "beyond" their specific use through the figurative power of photography and their own personal creativity.

The photo exhibition is also accompanied by a catalogue, Biblos Edizioni, that comes both in Italian and English.
