On Sunday, April 6, during Vinitaly 2025, Zenato Academy unveiled its latest project: the photography exhibition “Sun Rain Wind” by artist Julia Carrillo, curated by Luca Panaro, hosted at the Zenato stand.

The project was born out of an artist residency held at Zenato’s estates in Peschiera del Garda and Valpolicella. During her stay, Carrillo observed both vineyard and cellar activities at the height of the harvest season, gaining firsthand insight into the vital role of nature in the winemaking process. The layout of the vineyards themselves is grounded in a profound understanding of natural forces, enabling a kind of choreography between sun, rain, and wind. In parallel, Carrillo's images are created through direct interaction with these very elements—light, water, and air. In some instances, she worked with natural sunlight; in others, she reproduced rainfall and wind conditions within the darkroom. The resulting images serve as visual imprints of these elemental interactions, taking the form of abstract compositions open to interpretation.

The exhibition is accompanied by an Artist’s Book, published by a+mbookstore under the direction of Amedeo Martegani, with graphic design by Francesco Voltolina.

“Sun Rain Wind” marks the sixth project by Zenato Academy, reaffirming its commitment to investing in young talent and fostering reflection on the evolving boundaries of contemporary art—particularly in the realms of photography and video art.
